JOB SUMMARY
The Development & Marketing Director is responsible for implementing strategies that aid in the growth of the organization. The Director will provide leadership with an innovative perspective, initiating, and facilitating communication across different systems and communities. Focus areas include promoting growth in Park Center's services, organizing fundraising events, developing and maintaining relationships with influential organizations/donors, as well as database management and routine department functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Vision and Leadership
Collaborate with Executive staff and program Directors to implement business development strategies that will generate growth and increase referrals to Park Center's services.
Develop communications and marketing plans that target key audiences, enhance engagement across platforms, and expand community awareness of programs and services.
Business Development
Provide leadership to Business Development Manager with focus on sustaining relationships with community referral sources to ensure growth in the agency's programs.
Provide key information (including eligibility criteria, intake process, goals of services, etc.) to key referral sources in Davidson County.
Identify underserved geographic areas and populations in the county for outreach and inclusion.
Identify potential referral sources and reach out proactively to communicate the value of Park Center's services.
Financial Responsibility
Partner with executive leadership and board to develop and monitor budget.
Drive budget growth by cultivating business opportunities, relationships, and program referrals.
Fundraising
Lead development efforts in the areas of annual giving and fundraising events, corporate sponsorships, and major gifts.
Collect and analyze data for goal setting and evaluation of individual and corporate fundraising efforts.
Execute direct mail appeals, including copywriting, data compilation and segmentation, design, and vendor selection.
Develop content with the CEO for formal proposals, grants, appeal letters, collateral, event programs, annual reports, and other projects as needed.
Implement new fundraising techniques to increase funds.
Coordinate Park Center's Development Committee, including recruiting committee members annually, organizing meetings, identifying objectives, and driving outcomes.
Track donor engagement and maintain data integrity within HubSpot. Work with Program Directors to identify their needs and develop strategies to raise money for those needs.
Process gifts and follow acknowledgment procedures.
Research key donors, build authentic relationships and develop engagement strategies.
Develop strategies to increase awareness of Park Center's social media and website.
Engage and create relationships with other departments at Park Center to gather valuable information and success stories to promote to the community.
Manage social events for staff such as Town Halls or service projects for Park Center.
Manage volunteers and communicate with partners that want to interact with Park Center.
Train employees and coordinate with the Director of Business Development on how to effectively communicate with the community about Park Center.
Serve as a creative thought leader on how to advance Park Center's relevance to, and engagement of, new audiences and funders with a focus on justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Marketing
Create content for Park Center's social media pages including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube; monitor engagement; utilize social media tactics to increase brand awareness, engagement, and drive traffic to the agency website.
Lead efforts to update social and marketing platform, HubSpot; implement email marketing campaigns to email subscribers including donors, referral sources, volunteers, and stakeholders.
Utilize Google Analytics to monitor website traffic, analyze use of website, etc.
Maintain and optimize agency website; create blog content for the website (as needed); review website content regularly to ensure website information is current.
Communications
Write/edit member success stories for publication on social media, agency websites, and marketing materials.
Create and maintain a photo/video/success story library to ensure content is consistently available for use in digital and print materials.
Work with agency staff to cultivate member success stories and program updates.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required.
6+ years of professional experience in the nonprofit industry with demonstrated experience in development, marketing, and/or communications role.
Passion for mental health, addiction recovery, and housing-focused services.
Ability to lead, inspire, coach, and motivate teams.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate stakeholder relationships and produce outcomes.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence varied audiences.
Ability to navigate conversations adeptly, actively listen, empathize, and tailor communications as needed to resonate with the team.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to problem solve effectively.
Passion for collaboration and ability to work with other staff and departments to achieve a shared vision.
Professionalism and ability to represent Park Center effectively in the community.
Excellent computer skills with the ability to utilize spreadsheets, presentations, and word processing tools.
Experience working with CRM software preferred.
Able to uphold organizational values in all activities, demonstrate transparent and ethical behavior.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment with remote office flexibility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. Visual ability to detect errors.
