Job Description:This position is responsible for providing clinical, educational, research and administrative support for the implantable device program. The position coordinates the interrogation of the implantable devices which includes device data that is acquired during onsite device interrogation as well as data that a patient may submit from home to an Internet housed database. The role includes a research component for ongoing studies and maintenance of several databases. The role also serves to educate fellows, NP/PAs, and other staff on the utility of implantable devices, the intricacies of the interrogated device data, and the role these devices play in the management of arrhythmia patients.ScopeAs a Cardiac Device Tech you need to know how toGreet and screen patients, obtain proper consents.Clean and prepare patient care areas- Independently interrogate patient devices scheduled within the device clinic during office hoursProblem solve and then reprogram device as directed with Physician/NP/PA supervision/direction for implanted cardiac devicesInput patient and device information for new implants along with updating current informationMonitor patients enrolled in various monitoring programs.Routinely review submissions by the patient and review with physician if neededOversee and perform remote monitoring with selected patients on a routine basisDocument in the Specialized Clinics flow sheet within HER or remote monitoring site, using the assigned physicians standard and routes to physician to review/interpretInput patient and device information for new implants along with updating current informationCreate procedure notes for physician review and sign offMaintain standards for IAC certification and the Health Care Facility License.We hire people, not resumes.High School Diploma or equivalent, requiredAssociates Degree or Bachelors Degree is highly preferredCurrent BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, requiredInternational Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification, required within four (4) years of hire, requiredCertified Rhythm Analysis Tech (CRAT) credential/certification required within 2 years of hire, requiredMinimum of one (1) current/valid certification from the following list, preferred - Registered Nurse (RN)- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)- ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP)One (1) year experience in cardiology, either in a clinic or hospital setting OR a current and unrevoked Cardiac Device Technology Certification from a recognized device training school, requiredExperience reviewing and managing remote device transmission (Ex: Carelink, Latitutde and Merlin), required OR Cardiovascular technologist or EP lab technologist holding minimum of RCES, RCIS credential.
