Position Summary Provides health care services, providing imaging services to assist in diagnosis or treatment.Performs imaging procedures and related techniques, producing image for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner.Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.Provides care for patients ranging in age from newborn through geriatric.Provides practical instruction to students.
A clinical competent Radiographer who performs duties routine diagnostic radiology exams & is cross-trained to assist with cardiac catheterization & peripheral vascular procedures in order to respond to emergent STEMI or peripheral vascular cases during nightshift hours.
Cath Lab Specific Responsibilities: Cross-trained to provide intraprocedural duties during cardiac catheterization & peripheral vascular procedures.Responds to STEMI alerts during assigned shifts. No on-call requirements for cath lab.Surgical scrub assisting physician during invasive/interventional procedures while maintaining sterile field.May assist with circulating to pull needed equipment/supplies during procedure.Assist with sheath pulls, deployment of closure devices, radial & groin management.Participates in patient transport.Assumes professional responsibility, accountability, and initiative.Successfully completes Telemetry Course.Maintains BLS and ACLS certifications.Provide optimal patient careReceive, relay and document verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient's medical recordCorroborate a patient's clinical history with procedure and ensure information is documented and available for useVerify informed consent for applicable proceduresAssume responsibility for patient needs during proceduresPrepare patients for proceduresApply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to the patient, self and othersIdentify, prepare and/or administer medications as prescribedEvaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identificationIdentify and respond to emergency situationsEducate and monitor students and other healthcare providersPerform ongoing quality assurance activitiesApply the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient carePerform diagnostic radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic proceduresOperate fluoroscopic equipment in the surgical settingAssist the physician with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic proceduresRequirements Certification by ARRT.Valid license issued by ODH.CPR certificationRadiologic Licensure, RTRLicking Memorial Health Systems is an equal opportunity employer and maintains compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
