Full job description Position Title: Dietitian II Job Group: Professional & Scientific Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience. Registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Must have and maintain licensure as a Licensed Dietitian in the State of Iowa. Preferred Qualifications: Registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Must have and maintain licensure as a Licensed Dietitian in the State of Iowa.
Experience developing and evaluating menus for nutritional quality and accuracy
Experience creating, coordinating, and assuring compliance of special diets
Experience with CBORD, Menu Management, or other menu and nutritional software programs.
Experience providing nutritional education information to students and/or higher education.
Experience conducting presentations to a variety of audiences.

Responsible for working with university students, groups, programs or departments to increase awareness and improve behaviors relevant to diet and nutrition including counseling, assessment, and support.



Example of Duties Provides dietetic and nutrition services and expertise. Provides dietetic assessment, counseling, and support to students. Refers clients to appropriate health authority as needed. Assists with meal planning. • Maintains contact with Department of Residence, University Dining Services and external vendors regarding available nutrition options.
Provides education to clients through creation of training materials and presentations.

Level Guidelines Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity Provides guidance to students This position is a 12 month position. Working hours are Monday - Friday regular business hours with the possibility of working later or on weekends due to special events.
