We're looking for a Digital Associate! Worth Rises seeks a well-rounded Digital Associate (exempt) to develop and implement all digital organizing components of the organization's advocacy campaigns and narrative efforts. They should be a high-level and creative thinker, innovative strategist, thoughtful storyteller, and proactive executor with a sharp sense of cultural trends and best practices in cutting-edge digital organizing. The Digital Associate will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications and will work closely with the advocacy and narrative departments, as well as staff across the organization, to develop creative digital strategies that support the organization's goals. Worth Rises is a non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to dismantling the prison industry and ending the exploitation of those it touches. Partnering with directly impacted people, we work to expose the commercialization of the criminal legal system and advocate and organize to protect the economic resources extracted from affected communities and strip the industry of its power. Through our work, we strive to pave a road toward a safe and just world free of police and prisons. Key Results (Year One) Develop and implement a supporter engagement funnel for supporters that brings people in and grows them from follower to action taker to donor. Increase social media followers by 25% across and engagement by 10% across X and Instagram accounts. Increase email subscribers by 25% and boost overall email open rates by 10% and click-through rates by 15%. Generate at least 250,000 digital actions across organizational advocacy campaigns through Phone2Action. Establish partnerships with at least five digital influencers to amplify campaign messaging.Major Responsibilities Support the development and manage the execution of the organization's digital program with the Executive Director, Chief Advocacy Officer, Chief Narrative Officer, Director of Marketing & Communications, and communications team.Build and implement an engagement funnel for supporters coming into contact with the work from various platforms. Manage digital organizing tools, including Phone2Action, helping program staff to drive digital actions in support of their campaigns. Manage social media efforts, working alongside others on the communications team to create, edit, publish, and share compelling content daily (e.g. original text, graphics, videos, and news); engaging with followers, partners, and other content; and responding to messages.Manage the email program to appropriately convey the organization's story and work to its supporters in service of education, advocacy, and fundraising efforts. Manage the organization's website and all campaign websites, keeping content updated.Manage SEO and Google Adwords for the website to maximize reach and engagement. Track and evaluate the efficacy of the digital program, recommending and implementing adjustments to strategy based on results. Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in digital organizing to recommend and implement new approaches. Critical Factors for Success This role requires a motivated self-starter who takes initiative unprompted, consistently delivers high-quality work, is an excellent project manager, is a proactive and innovative problem-solver, appreciates direct feedback, and has the following:At least two years of professional experience working in non-profit digital organizing with demonstrated ability to bolster an organization's digital mobilizing power.Superior writing and editing skills, as well as excellent proofreading and copyediting skills.Mastery of digital tools, including Mailchimp, Phone2Action, Adobe Suite, Canva, Website CMS, and other software.Experience using digital metrics and analytics tools, including Google Analytics, social media insights, email analytics, A/B testing, to make data-driven decisions and optimize digital strategies.Knowledge of user experience (UX) and accessibility best practices to ensure digital campaigns and websites are optimized for all audiences.Ability to create inclusive, culturally relevant content that resonates with racially, economically, and socially diverse audiences.Goal-oriented, creative, and analytical mind.Thoughtful and sensitive communication style rooted in integrity and humility. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for the Digital Associate is $72,000.
