Digital Power Application Engineer– Remote

Siemens Electrical Services is growing! We are currently looking for an experienced Sr. Sales Applications Engineer to support our Electrical Services Digital Force. The Digital Power Application Engineer will be responsible for helping in designing and supporting digital power solutions for sales, as well as preparing and managing quotes for our clients. This role requires a strong technical background in digital solutions and systems within electrical distribution equipment and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
As part of your responsibilities, you will also complete sales estimates and engineer complex systems for the sales team including project take-offs, specification interpretation and associated activities.
As a Digital Power Application Engineer, you will:
Technical Support: Providetechnical expertise and support for digital power products and solutions to customers and sales teams.
Quoting: Preparedetailed and accurate quotes for digital power services based on customer requirements and specifications.
Design and Development: Assistin the initial design and development of digital power services, EPMS, and applications within electrical distribution equipment and meters.
Customer Interaction: Workclosely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Documentation: Createand maintain technical documentation, including application notes, user manuals, and design guides.
Collaboration: Collaboratewith cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and engineering, to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
Training: Conducttraining sessions for customers and internal teams on digital power products and applications.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Accurately estimates labor and material job costs and provides technical support and advice to Sales and Operations teams.
Acts as external liaison working with clients maintaining high level of customer satisfaction.
Develops and maintains engineering design and pricing resources for field sales teams.
With sales, operations and project managers, completes site walk throughs to determine specific client needs and ensure project requirements are met including safety standards.
Assists sales by providing project labor and equipment costs, counts, ensuring part number accuracy.
Values projects by product and installation and creates scope documents (prime to subcontractors and vice versa) using quote software.
Provides operational and troubleshooting advice as needed.
Provides subcontractor bid packages & assistance by evaluating customer site system requirements and accurate job estimates.
Researches and develops alternative, improved solutions when possible.
Maintains all job folders.
Act as external liaison for owners, general contractors, sub contractors and trades people as needed.
Facilitates project closure turnover meetings between assigned sales and operations employees.
Works with vendors to design and price systems.
Stays abreast of and educate others on new product and/or service information
Develops and maintains resources for sales and operations team including technical library, cut sheets, manuals and vendor product information.
Assists in establishing pricing including verification of subcontractor/vendor costs.
Maintains and increases technical knowledge and competence in company products, applications and services.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Technology Power Electronics preferred, or a related field.
5+ years technical background in pre-sales, estimating, and design of electrical services and solutions required.
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of and ability to train others on product applications.
Demonstrated strong organization, project management and communication skills and ability to make professional presentations.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Power Point. Senior: Expert knowledge and broad engineering understanding of power distribution systems and services.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience:Proven experience in power systems, network applications, digital power applications, control and automation or a similar role.
Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of power systems, network systems, digital control and automation systems, and related software tools.
Quoting Experience:Experience in preparing and managing quotes for technical products or solutions.
Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Customer Focus:Ability to understand customer needs and provide effective solutions.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical distribution equipment, meters, and power systems.

The pay range for this position is $80,150 - $137,400 and the annual incentive target is 10%. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
