The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the daily supervision of the service staff to ensure excellent service and customer satisfaction for Members and guests in various dining and catering venues at the Glenridge on Palmer Ranch (GPR).
Responsibilities:
Assists in the daily supervision of IL service staff. Assists with the administration of daily special and catered functions as they relate to the use of the private dining room and/or areas within the main dining room. Assists in the planning with Members and/or family members of catered events scheduled for the private dining room or that will take place in any area of the main dining room. Assists Manager in the execution and assignment of catering responsibilities as assigned. Ensures the proper greeting and seating of all Members and guests. Daily management and administration of all sanitation functions and responsibilities of the IL service staff, inclusive of but not limited to: Sanitation task assignments. Quality assurance of equipment temperatures taken by Security. Maintenance of chemical inventory and par levels. Ordering all chemicals. Staff training in chemical safety. Assures Member satisfaction in the IL and private Dining Rooms. Prepares and maintain records, reports, and paperwork regarding Dining Services operations as assigned. Supervises cleaning and set up of dining areas. Assists with on-the-job training and orientation of newly assigned service staff. Assists in implementing and coordinating department policies and procedures, with particular focus on service. Assists with scheduling of service staff. Uses good judgment in determining needs of the company and in maintaining information delivery in conformance with recognized standards; and is expected to understand and follow all regulatory and facility policies. Keeps current on all changes in their area of responsibility, particularly regulatory changes as they relate to CCRCs. Uses good judgment in determining the needs of Members and working with the different departments and in maintaining delivery of those needs in accordance with recognized standards; and is expected to understand and follow all regulatory and facility policies. Supervises service staff in safety and sanitation and ensures that departmental policies and procedures are followed. Attendance and participation in in-service training (IST) programs and other meetings as requested. Reports all hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents. And incidents in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Qualifications:
Must have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have at least two (2) years of proven experience in the administration and management of all phases of service, catering, and front of the house operations. Must be sanitation certification trained and certified. Knowledge of processes for providing customer service, assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal food sanitation regulations. Comfortable in providing direction and supervision to dining staff. Proficiency in understanding of computer software as it relates to the job. Excellent leadership skills Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be empathetic, enthusiastic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
