Primary Purpose: PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Develop, manage and direct the activities of the Regulatory Affairs & Regulatory Strategies group.
Develop and enhance ComEd's regulatory relationship with the Illinois Commerce Commission, its Staff and Stakeholders.
Plan and direct the identification, evaluation and analysis of strategic policy options for ComEd's electricity distribution business that create maximum shareholder value.
Act as a key regulatory resource to all of the other business units of ComEd on regulatory matters, strategies and policies.
Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties: PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Plan and direct the identification, evaluation and analysis of strategic policy options for ComEd's distribution business using analytical skills and an in-depth working knowledge of legal, regulatory and financial concepts and standards unique to the industry.
(30%) Manage the Company's anticipation of and response to regulatory issues, coordinating across all ComEd business units.
Proactively communicate with other ComEd business units on regulatory issues relating to their portions of the business.
(20%) Develop and enhance ComEd's regulatory relationship with the Illinois Commerce Commission, its Staff and Stakeholders in a manner that facilitates ComEd's strategic and business objectives.
(20%) Plan, manage and direct the activities of the Regulatory Affairs & Regulatory Strategies group.
(20%) Act as ComEd's lead regulatory policy witness in regulatory proceedings before the ICC.
(5%) Manage ComEd's prevention of and handling of formal customer complaints lodged with the ICC.
(5%) Job Scope: JOB SCOPE This position has a direct impact on the successful development and implementation of ComEd's strategic initiatives, with a direct impact on the Company's bottom line.
The director manages 7 direct reports and 19 additional indirect reports.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BS or BA degree in business, economics, or other related discipline Twelve or more years experience in the retail rate, regulatory, financial, strategic planning, marketing, or economic analysis areas In lieu of degree, 15-20 years of relevant experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to represent the Company internally and externally and to testify on behalf of the Company before the ICC.
Must possess highly effective interpersonal skills to interface with members of the Illinois Commerce Commission.
Excellent analytical skills and creative thinking skills are required to direct and oversee activities related to evaluation of strategic options.
Must possess broad understanding of Company strategy and business practices, the workings of the wholesale and retail electricity markets as well as the federal and Illinois regulatory landscape.
Must possess working knowledge of the Illinois Public Utilities Act and the Illinois Administrative Code applicable to electric utilities.
Ability to direct the work activities of others.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles of management, finance, budgeting and supervision.
5 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced degree in Business, Economics or Law highly desirable
Benefits: Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: USD $176,000.00/Yr.
