THE OPPORTUNITY

Director, Analytics and Risk Modeling

RESPONSIBILITIES

Help to maintain and update existing quantitative models utilized by the firm. This may include everything from adapting/improving quantitative methodologies to enhancing the efficiency of calculations and data flow to improving user interface to improving the design of tables, graphs, and other outputs.

Field questions from client teams on quantitative and modeling issues, including directing to appropriate models/methodologies, advising on appropriate model inputs, execution, and customization, interpretation of model results, etc.

Work with internal stakeholders to understand their needs; translate requirements and requests into changes to existing tools; help prioritize and drive future development.

Assist in the research, design, specification, and testing of models/methodologies for use in asset allocation, portfolio management, and risk monitoring.

Lead training sessions on new or existing models to various groups within the firm; help to document and convey firm standards and policy decisions.

Maintain and develop an understanding of investments, the investment industry, and what informs investment decisions through research, interaction with team members and practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor degree(s) with a concentration in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering.

7-10+ years' experience – preferably in a financial services firm.

Analytical, collaborative, curious, creative, with good communication skills.

Strong understanding of statistics and linear algebra.

In-depth experience with Microsoft Excel and VBA.

2+ years computer programming experience in Python.

Demonstrated ability to balance theory and practice.

Demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience.
