About the Team
AP is a rigorous academic program built on the commitment, passion andhard work of students and educators from secondary schools and highereducation. With almost 40 courses in a wide variety of subject areas, APprovides willing and academically prepared high school students with theopportunity to study and learn at the college level. The AP program iscontinuing to rapidly expand its development of instructional andassessment products under the leadership of the growing AssessmentProduction team. The team currently consists of 14 talented andcollaborative professionals with expertise in a variety of domains thatare integral to the assessment production process and will expand to 20+team members over the next year.
To support the continued production of high-quality teacher- andstudent-facing materials, the AP Program is looking fill the role of Project Manager, AP Assessment Production.
About the Opportunity
As the Project Manager, AP Assessment Production, you will overseeproject and process management for assessment authoring and review forup to 3 AP courses, maintaining and communicating detailed reporting andstatus tracking across a number of interdependent workstreams.Partnering with AP content teams, external consultant content creators,and various other stakeholders, you will ensure that all assessmentitems are developed to designated specifications and on neededtimelines.
As Director, AP Assessment Production, you are an integral member of thecross-functional team building and delivering AP Exams and Instructionalresources. You are a collaborative, insightful, and highly-motivatedprofessional, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for educationalopportunity. You are not shy about digging into ambiguity and you arequick to propose more efficient ways of getting things done.
In this role, you will:
Project Planning (40%)
Develop and maintain detailed item authoring and review schedulesfor all summative and formative assessments for each of the coursesyou manage
Collaborate with CB stakeholders (AP Assessment, AP Classroom,Technology, Digital Delivery) as well as external partners to defineand implement requirements for AP assessment products based on therequirements of the range of AP courses, platforms, and formats
Partner with AP content teams to build and maintain detailedassessment item and form specifications, monitoring existing iteminventory and scoping/scheduling assessment production workaccordingly
Support the recruitment, on-boarding, and continued professionallearning of high-quality independent consultants to serve as contentcreators across all applicable courses
Project Management (40%)
Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of the status of allassessment deliverables under your management
Facilitate multiple levels of internal and external reviews for allAP assessment products and resources, ensuring all feedback isconsidered and integrated
Serve as the representative for assessment production for each ofthe courses you manage to both internal and external audiences,triaging obstacles and escalating roadblocks and delays, as needed
Lead weekly stand-ups with all relevant AP content teams, providingvisibility into and accountability for current work status andupcoming deliverables
Budget and tra k all costs in your purview and recommend efficientstaffing and resourcing solutions
Process Development and Improvement (20%)
Integrate project management tools for your course(s) with processesmanaged by other key stakeholders In the Assessment Production valuechain
Collaborate with peers and the broader Assessment Production team todocument and iterate on current project management practices
Share recommendations for process and tool improvements on anongoing basis
About You
You Have:
Bachelor\'s degree is required
5+ years of relevant product and/or project management experience isrequired, preferably in the education industry
High degree of personal ownership and accountability to consistentlydeliver results in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills with a process-orientedmindset
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills;demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships at alllevels of the organization
An ability to embrace ambiguity and a will
