This includes Compensation, Benefits, Retirement, Long term Incentives, Leave of Absence, Recruitment, Learning and Payroll Operations. It is a complex, fast paced environment which offers up new challenges to stretch your skills every day. This position is part of the CEG M&A and Vendor Management team.As a Director of the CEG Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team this person will support the execution of strategically relevant and financially sound transactions that supplement growth and optimize the company's capital through acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.The CEG M&A team provides strategic leadership and delivery of the colleague-related aspects of due diligence, integration and divestiture planning, and transaction execution, as well as structuring and implementation for JVs and other corporate transactions.Job responsibilitiesSpecifically, the CEG M&A Director will be responsible for:·Partnering and working with the appropriate CEG team with delegates from various human resources related functions: compensation, benefits, employment law (internal and external), DEI, colleague labor relations, global mobility, payroll, and Colleague Strategic Partners from the business and appropriate geographies across the deal and integration/separation lifecycle.·Understanding the deal structure, timing, and process as laid out by the corporate and/or business development teams and translating these requirements into project plans for the CEG team and stakeholders·Leading CEG due diligence analysis including talent, culture, HR operations, benefits, compensation in partnership with Corporate Development and appropriate CEG teams. Synthesizing and presenting diligence findings and recommendations to CEG leadership, the broader deal team, and AXP leadership·Reviewing and providing input to draft legal agreements and ensuring that the CEG agreements and structures are appropriately reflected in the final legal agreements·Representing CEG work stream on cross-functional deal teams and surfacing people-related issues and business impacts.·Support the creation of integration/separation strategies and on/offboarding of colleagues·Identify lessons learned and process improvements to support continuous improvement of CEG M&A infrastructure, developing and modifying playbooks and tools.·Oversee the acquired colleague insights program, which seeks to understand colleague behaviors post-acquisition (e.g., retention, career progression etc.)Required QualificationsThe ideal candidate for the CEG M&A Due Diligence Director position will meet the following requirements:·8+ years Corporate Human Resources or HR consulting experience with experience in M&A (diligence and/or integration)·Ability to think strategically to grasp key business drivers of an issue, determine strategic human capital implications, offer solutions and deliver on them.·Strong executive presence; should be comfortable operating across hierarchies and speaking up with a point of view·Exemplary communication skills – strong storyteller with ability to adapt messaging based on the audience and ability to break down complex topics into understandable, concise messages·Builds and leverages an effective network of relationships to help drive effective decision making and resolution of issues·Comfortable working in an environment with tight deadlines, imperfect information, and ambiguity·Experienced in leading multi-stakeholder projects for large scale change programs or process implementationsNon-considerations for sponsorship:Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
