This Senior/Executive Director position is based in Cambridge, MA, reporting to the VP of CNS Discovery.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in advancing groundbreaking modalities for the treatment of CNS diseases.


Responsibilities:

Take the lead in developing BBB-crossing treatments to provide high-value programs in line with Simcere's portfolio strategy.
Make strategic and quality decisions for the programs in alignment with Simcere's management teams.
Be responsible for crafting an innovative product profile and guiding decision-making by formulating outcome scenarios at critical data inflection points.
Hold accountability for assembling and maintaining a motivated and high-performing program team, ensuring team members meet their expectations.
Provide relevant input into other portfolio project teams when needed.
Establish and cultivate cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders.
Provide oversight to collaborative programs and maintain strong relationships with investigators and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the field, both nationally and internationally.
Requirements PhD, MD or MD/PhD in neuroscience or related fields, with 8+ years of experience in blood-brain barrier (BBB) biology Must have - experience in leading a group to study the delivery of large molecules across the BBB in industrial or academic settings Strong knowledge of preclinical and translational research, as well as early clinical development, is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, along with prior experience in leading organizations and guiding individuals through transformative changes Demonstrated success in building teams, leading and influencing experienced professionals and executives Ability to think critically, creatively and to anticipate and solve problems
