About Us:
We are a dynamic and innovative team within the Asset Management sector, currently undergoing an exciting transformation and modernization phase. As we grow, we're seeking a passionate Director of Engineering to join our Principal Asset Management Front Office team. This leadership role will be pivotal in driving the execution of key technology initiatives and shaping our Front Office technology strategy on a global scale.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a team in developing and implementing Front Office systems and engineering practices.
- Drive talent management efforts, including recruitment, performance assessments, training, and career development.
- Understand and prioritize customer needs to enhance their experience across Principal Asset Management.
- Develop strategic plans for technical infrastructure and business system development, leveraging technological advancements.
- Communicate multi-year technical strategy across various teams and manage departmental budget, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define and prioritize innovations that enhance technical functionality in alignment with business needs.
- Serve as a key technology leader, driving consensus and inspiring engineers towards achieving high-quality results.
- Set standards for delivering high-quality products, services, and processes, even in challenging circumstances.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree (preference in computer sciences, information systems, business administration) or equivalent, with 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership experience, preferably with 6+ years of leading teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to our headquarters in Des Moines, IA on a quarterly basis if remote.
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out:
- Experience in Asset Management/Investment Management industry, particularly in Front Office systems and methodologies.
- Knowledge of Risk Analytics, Investment Portfolio Data concepts, or Advanced Analytics.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
