Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of IT, the Director, Enterprise Applications & Databases is a key member of the Information Technology Leadership Team (ITLT) responsible for the overall support and integration of the institution's enterprise applications and databases (EAD). Primary duties include functional oversight of the department's enterprise applications and database portfolio, as well as data analytics and reporting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of enterprise applications, databases, and integrations. Experience with educational ERPs within an Oracle database environment. Familiarity with SaaS and cloud environments. Experience leading IT projects using the RACI model and SMART goals. Strong budgeting skills and ability to develop comprehensive business cases for IT initiatives. Knowledge of data governance processes and experience in leading efforts to consolidate information.
Required Qualifications: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field.EXPERIENCE: 7+ years of IT-related experience, with at least three years as an IT leader managing major teams in higher education.Preferred Qualifications: Preferences will be given to individuals with an undergraduate degree and experience in both academe and industry.
Key Responsibilities: Functional Responsibilities: Oversee the Enterprise Architecture program, optimize business services, assess and recommend new enterprise applications, and collaborate with the Senior DBA.Contract Review and Management: Work with AVP of IT to review contracts and negotiate terms for renewals and new contracts.Data Governance: Lead the Data Governance process, develop and maintain a Data Dictionary, and ensure data standards.Data Analytics and Reporting: Develop executive dashboards and reports to provide visibility into institutional data.Information Security: Collaborate with the Information Security Officer to ensure data security and compliance.Business Analysis: Assess current business practices to identify reengineering opportunities.Work Schedule: This position will follow a typical 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule, with occasional nights, weekends, and potential travel as needed.
