JOB SUMMARY:
Provides strategic direction in the finance function at UDX, specifically ensuring accuracy of consolidated financial results (accounting function) and financial reporting submissions to NBCU. This job involves leading a team of Senior Accountants. Additional aspect of job includes managing the external audit process for UDX as well as the Hotel JVs. The Director, Finance – Accounting & Reporting must participate in financial reviews with executive leadership.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the month-end close process including review of journal entries, internal management reports, account reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements. Communicate across departments to ensure that all close deadlines are met, and results are reported accurately. Manage the monthly/quarterly variance commentary process and perform other analytics as required.
Assists Sr Director, Finance – Accounting & Reporting with ad-hoc projects which may include technical accounting research and documenting conclusions; assisting with NBCU and Comcast accounting initiatives.
Direct and supervise the overall UDX accounting function. Manage team by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, career development, and performance management.
Lead the month-end close process for the hotel JV's, coordinating across business as well as with hotel JV partner to ensure month end financial statements are prepared timely and accurately.
Oversee monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure that reconciliations are accurate and prepared and submitted in accordance with NBCU account reconciliation policy. Also oversee the account reconciliation compliance with NBCU policy for all of Parks.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Masters or equivalent is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of accounting and supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
CPA required
Occasional local and long-distance travel may be required.
