Summary of Position:
The Director, FP&A will be an integral part of Zero's leadership team and will work closely with the CEO, CFO and senior stakeholders to help scale the business and implement strategic objectives. The Director of FP&A will be responsible for overseeing all forecasting, budgeting and financial planning as well as providing in-depth analysis of company performance to support decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
Build out a high-performance FP&A function including developing FP&A team members Responsible for all financial planning, budgeting and forecasting and long-range financial modeling Margin forecasting and reporting Develop and maintain financial models for business case analysis Business partnering across organization to improve internal reporting processes Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial plans and operational strategies Provide strategic analyses and recommendations to executive management, including insights on revenue growth, cost reduction opportunities, and capital investment Advise on risk management and implement financial controls to safeguard the organization's assets Advise on financial implications of business strategies Develop and monitor key performance indicators to gauge the company's financial health Work with operations on development of manufacturing KPIs and on financial needs relative to growth and expansion plans Champion the use of advanced analytics and financial technology to drive business insights Communicate financial insights and strategic recommendations effectively to stakeholders, including board members, investors, and department heads Required Education/Experience:
MBA and 5+ years of experience in a similar position or in the following fields: management/strategy consulting, business strategy role at a technology-focused company, analyst at a venture capital or investment banking firm or 10+ years of progressive FP&A experience Start-up experience or experience building FP&A teams and full cycle FP&A processes Passion for technology and working in a fast-paced environment Acute eye for detail and high working standards A 'doer' – hands on experience in an FP&A role. Ready to dive into details and take on the blocking and tackling of the role, while also being able to build a team over time. Understanding of GAAP Skills and Attributes Have strong project management skills, and the ability to network to get things done Excellent strategic thinker A willing and adept teacher and coach to both Finance and business partners Strong ability to influence at all levels of the business, from managers to Board members Ability to scale with the business Be flexible and adaptable Have exceptional quantitative and analytical skills Problem-solving attitude, with a 'fix it forever' mindset Be a hands-on, self-starter who works well in a fast-paced team environment Excellent communication skills SAP & Adaptive experience is a plus Physical and Sensory Requirements: Candidate must be able to sit for long periods of time to perform duties, and to move around and make inquiries from other staff, management as needed. Must be able to bend or stoop down to access files, including lifting of items or objects up to 10 lbs.
