What You'll Do: We are seeking a Director, FP&A to lead the company's Financial Planning and Analysis operations. This individual will be responsible for building and executing best-in-class financial processes to support balanced and thoughtful strategic planning efforts. Key responsibilities of this role include leading Kailera's financial planning and analysis processes, collaborating with Accounting towards compliant financial close and reporting, and providing the company with insightful analyses to guide strategic decision-making. When and if applicable, this role will play an integral part in IPO or other fundraising readiness and execution. This role will report to the company's VP of Finance.
Responsibilities: Define and drive the strategic vision for FP&A, with a commitment towards frameworks and processes to support scalable growthLead Kailera's financial planning and analysis processes, including the annual budget, periodic forecasting, and long-range planning (LRP) deliverablesPartner with business stakeholders and Finance colleagues to meet process deadlines and established targetsProvide actionable insights and analyses to communicate key risks, opportunities, and assumptions to inform decision-makingAssist the Accounting Team with accruals to ensure proper timing of recognition, statement of related Balance Sheet items and support towards review and compliance with SOX controlsAnalyze relevant inputs, including open purchase orders, invoices, vendor agreements, business feedback and forecasts to determine appropriate recognition of functional expenses in accordance with US GAAP and company policyProvide variance reporting for budget, forecasts and actuals, including analyzing, understanding and explaining cost drivers and variancesAssist the Accounting team with cash management, cash runway analyses, and other treasury-related needsCreate and maintain robust financial tracking and reporting that empowers business leaders to actively manage functional spendAct as a trusted advisor to cross-functional leaders, providing strategic financial guidance that aligns operational plans with long-term objectivesSupport potential future fundraising activities, including but not limited to financial support of due diligence processesRequired Qualifications: 10+ years of relevant work experienceCommitment to business partnership with a strong sense of ownership for projects and resultsExcellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple functional areas in a collaborative, team environmentExcellent organization, problem solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detailTrack record of balancing priorities to meet deadlinesStrong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)Experience working in a biotech or pharmaceutical organization; experience with large clinical trials a plusExpertise in Excel and excellent PowerPoint skills; strong computing experience with commonly used Financial Systems (e.g. NetSuite) a plusExperience or eagerness to be part of a fast-growing organizationWillingness to 'build the plane while flying' and comfort with ambiguityFlexible, personable team playerEducation: Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in the field of Accounting, Finance, or BusinessBenefits of Working at Kailera In addition to traditional benefits, we provide enhanced offerings designed to support the well-being and financial security of our team members and their families.

We share the pay range for this particular role with the actual base salary depending upon factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, market factors, and experience.
Salary Range: $175,000 - $230,000 USD
