OVERVIEW:Candidate will work with show producers crafting dynamic visual newscasts in full VR studio spaces.As Director, you will verbally call the shots to the jib op as the anchors work the virtual green floor with the jib camera following along using the virtual environment to tell the story.Providing viewers with a stunning virtual environment using innovative VR technology.Handling imagines coding and directing a full newscast in an immersive virtual environment controlled by ELC.EQUIPMENT:Zero-Density Virtual ProductionSony ELC AutomationSony XVS Switchers Chyron Prime / ISQ / NewstickerCalrec AudioStudio JibsRESPONSIBILITIES:The candidate will work with the editorial and production staff and provide leadership in and out of the control room directing an aggressive newscast using the latest VR technology.Directors code their assigned newscasts and run through portions of the show with crew and talent before going to air to ensure the highest level of readiness before going on the air.A successful candidate must have sound technical skills, collaborate before each show with the producer to ensure smart, effective use of virtual tools, and bring a "can-do" approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.Willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include mornings and holidays.Candidate must be open to implementing new technologies and/or methods to accomplish future assignments.REQUIREMENTS:Proven experience in live news production is required.Previous Control Room Automation use is required, Sony ELC experience is preferred.Knowledge of iNews preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills.Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and priorities a must.Excellent people and communication skills needed.Good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills are a must.CBS News and Stations is home to the nation's #1 news program 60 MINUTES, the CBS News Streaming Network, and provides news and information for the CBS Television Network, CBSNews.com, CBS News Radio and podcasts. ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONHiring Salary Range: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
