The IB team advises owners, entrepreneurs and investors on M&A, debt and equity capital transactions, recapitalizations, restructurings, §363 sales, acquisition and Debtor-in-Possession (DIP) financings and liability management. The Director, IB // Industrials M&A role offers an ideal opportunity for candidates to work closely with senior bankers to manage the day-to-day execution of transactions and business development initiatives. Portage Point's small transaction team structure creates a strong platform for Directors to assume high levels of responsibility and client exposure on transformative transactions in the middle market. As a Director, IB // Industrials M&A you will work on a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, private placements of debt and equity securities and other financial advisory services. The role represents a unique opportunity for a highly capable professional to make substantial contributions to overall firm growth in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. 
\n ResponsibilitiesWork with the Portage Point team (Associates to Managing Directors) to execute all deliverables necessary to consummate transactions for our middle-market clientsManage and execute live transactions, assist with new business development and client relationships, with a particular focus on working closely with Associates and Vice Presidents on day-to-day team deliverablesOversee financial and valuation analysis, resolve complex financial and accounting issues, perform industry and competitive analysis and prepare client presentation materialsCreate client marketing materials (Teasers, Confidential Information Presentations, Management Presentations, etc.) to be distributed to prospective investorsIdentify and contact targeted investors interested in a potential transaction and managing investor proposal solicitationAssist in the structuring and negotiation of transactionsOversee and manage client and investor due diligenceAid with the management of, and compliance with, all administrative standard operating procedures associated with a transaction   Provide professional development coaching to junior team membersShare and managing best practices as well as lead internal trainings where requiredLead business development efforts while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients Support talent acquisition and firm development efforts Contribute to a high-performing and inclusive culture QualificationsBachelor's degree from a top undergraduate program Located or willing to self-relocate to Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York or Philadelphia Invested in a team-based culture motivated to collaborate in office four days per week and willing to work at client sites as needed 10 plus years of work experience in investment banking and / or a relevant field or MBA degree with at least six years of investment banking experienceFive plus years of industrials experience Strong financial modeling skills and an excellent grasp of corporate finance and financial valuation methodologies including DCF, LBO, merger modeling, trading and transaction comparablesExperience with due-diligence and transaction execution processesExperience preparing and maintaining industry / company presentations and benchmarking materials and other related process documentsCommitment to develop personal network and relationships and uncover and sell new opportunities and engagementsExperience supervising other professionals and acting in a manner that serves to motivate, inspire and developSeries 79 and 63 FINRA licenses or ability to obtain within 120 days of employmentAbility to successfully work in a small, collaborative team environmentHigh degree of maturity with a proven ability to interact with senior executives, private equity firms, lenders, lawyers, middle managers and line workers Effectively communicates analysis through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint including high-quality messaging, structure and formatting Eagerness to be responsive at all timesProven track-record of success in high pressure, time-constrained environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills including strong e-mail etiquetteTop-tier organizational skills and attention to detailSelf-starter and entrepreneurial spirit
\n$600,000 - $800,000 a year
The City of New York and the State of California require Portage Point to provide compensation information for this role. This range represents the anticipated minimum and maximum base + bonus for this position based upon a good faith and reasonable estimate. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant's qualifications (education, training and/or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
