ZERO's Director of IT Operations and Business Intelligence will be a key player in driving the organization's ongoing expansion.
As a newly established position, the role involves overseeing current and upcoming platforms, as well as proposing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and creating/refining policies and procedures, all with a heightened emphasis on cybersecurity measures.
Position Overview:We are looking for a committed and seasoned Director of IT Operations and Business Intelligence to spearhead the IT function at ZERO Prostate Cancer.
This role entails overseeing daily IT operations, safeguarding our technology systems' security and effectiveness, and strategically leveraging technology to advance the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement the organization's overall technology strategy in alignment with business goals, focusing specifically on enabling data-driven program evaluation and impact measurement across multiple platforms (Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, event management systems, patient program systems, etc.
).Oversee IT systems, networks, and infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance.
Design and oversee enterprise architecture that supports secure integration between disparate systems (CRM, financial platforms, program delivery tools) while maintaining HIPAA compliance and protecting sensitive donor/patient data.Implement best practices and security protocols to ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data.
Establish and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity protocols, paying special attention to PCI compliance for donations, HIPAA requirements for patient information, and secure remote access for remote and hybrid workforces.Manage IT projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide strategic solutions.
Partner with program teams to develop custom dashboards and reporting solutions that track key performance metrics, including program outcomes, fundraising effectiveness, and constituent engagement across multiple channels.Evaluate and recommend new technologies, software, and hardware to improve efficiency and productivity.Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.Create and maintain an IT governance framework that addresses unique nonprofit compliance requirements, including grant reporting, program evaluation, and donor data management.Lead development and oversight of IT governance frameworks and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and cybersecurity standards while maintaining documentation of security policies and procedures.Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.Manage outsourced IT Help Desk partner and future hires in project management and IT.Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans with a particular focus on protecting donor data, maintaining service to constituents, and ensuring continuous donation processing capabilities.Create and deliver regular technology performance reports to the leadership team, translating technical metrics into mission impact and program effectiveness measures.Qualifications:Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in IT operations management, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (or related field), or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, security, and nonprofit compliance requirements.Experience leading enterprise-level BI initiatives, with proven expertise in transforming multi-platform data (CRM, financial, program metrics) into actionable dashboards and automated reporting solutions.
Demonstrated mastery of BI tools and data integration across nonprofit systems.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Familiarity with nonprofit software and tools (e.g., donor management systems and fundraising platforms) is a plus.Strong understanding of Google Workspace (certification(s) are a plus).Proficiency in Google analytics and administration.One of many reasons to join the ZERO team is because we offer great benefits!

This position is based remotely, and candidates may live in any area within the United States.
It will also require domestic travel approximately 3 times per year to ZERO meetings and/or trainings.
