We are seeking applicants for the position of Director of Maintenance. Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director, you will oversee a staff of six people and manage day-to-day maintenance for all athletic and recreation facilities for Stanford Athletics.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Your responsibilities will include:
Oversee and direct 7 Union workers to manage the upkeep and all athletic and recreation facilities.Serve as the main point of contact for all maintenance needs related to athletic and recreation facilities including plumbing, electrical, lighting, and HVAC repairs.Research, report and implement latest innovations in maintenance.Develop strategic plans in equipment, staffing and preventative maintenance.Clarify and resolve problems spanning multiple areas of facilities and/or develop programs within assigned facilities.Oversee the daily operation and management of assigned facilities and programs, including scheduling and assigning work to staff and coordinating with staff, subcontractors, and/or vendors; overseeing staffing and performance evaluation of assigned staff; contributing to department or division staffing needs forecast.Develop and manage a budget for area of responsibility, including staffing, maintenance, contracts, etc.Develop, Bid, Hire, and Manage outside vendor service contracts as applicable.Participate in department/unit strategic management, including making recommendations involving short-term planning for facility-type projects and for longer-range programs/projects;Providing input into long-range financial, budgeting, and programmatic planning and development; providing input into the development of policies and procedures; interpret and manage policies and procedures for assigned area.Directly supervise and coordinate daily activities of Bargaining Unit employees and non-union part-time workers including: scheduling and assigning work to staff and directing and leading workers in completing assigned work; monitoring work and project activity progress, making necessary changes; completing performance evaluations of assigned staff; performing quality assurance checks, and coordinating health and safety programs and training.Other duties may also be assigned.To be successful in this position, you will bring:Bachelor's degree and other appropriate technical area, or combination of education training, and experience.Two or more years of experience managing facilities operations and maintenance staff in an environment with a variety of facility types.Great communications and positive relationships with outside groups, students, faculty, staff.Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ability to conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance.Demonstrated experience managing service contracts.Demonstrated experience developing and managing budgets.Demonstrated experience interpreting planning specifications, documents, working drawings, and related reports.Must have the ability to work on deadline and handle several responsibilities simultaneously.Strong knowledge of current field trends and technologies.Significant independent judgment and self-motivation.DAPER's Integrity: This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford's intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that his/her involvement with Athletic Department activities maintains the integrity of the University's reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and PAC-12 rules and regulations.
The expected pay range for this position is $108,145 to $109,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
