POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Major Gifts is responsible for building and carrying a portfolio of approximately 150 prospects and closing five, six, and seven figure gifts in support of LifeBridge Health and its affiliates, with a special emphasis on increasing support from grateful patients. The Director of Major Gifts reports to the AVP Development for LifeBridge Health and has regular contact with members of the medical staff, the CEO of LifeBridge Health and the Presidents of Sinai Hospital and Grace Medical Center, Northwest Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, BridgingLife Hospice, and more.
The Director of Major Gifts will oversee and facilitate fundraising with several major service lines including Pediatrics, Rehabilitation, and The Brain and Spine Institute.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Major Gift Fundraising: With a strong metrics focus, this position moves prospects through the stages of the philanthropic process (moves management).
Builds and maintains a fluid pipeline of 150 major gift prospects.
Solicits 25-30 gifts annually, closing five, six, and seven figure gifts.
Makes 150-200 donor and prospect visits annually.
Works in Raiser's Edge to capture prospect and donor information and activity.
Requires the ability to be creative, innovative, flexible and resourceful in all aspects of prospect and donor engagement.
Clinician Engagement Works with physicians and other clinicians to identify grateful patients and families, qualify them for capacity and interest, and move them into the major gift pipeline.
Facilitates long-term philanthropic relationships with grateful patients and families, including clinicians, in the appropriate steps.
Builds strong working relationships with clinicians.
Manages several systemwide clinical service lines along with capital campaigns and major gifts initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field.
5-7 years of relevant experience.
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) cert preferred.
