Reporting to the Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry, this individual will play a pivotal role in advancing multiple small molecule drug discovery campaigns and will combine scientific decision-making with organizational leadership to drive projects from hit identification to development candidate.
In This Role, You Will: Lead multidisciplinary drug discovery chemistry teams in a fast-paced, results-driven biotech environmentDesign, implement and execute robust medicinal chemistry strategies to meet project objectivesEstablish and maintain partnerships to leverage external expertise and resourcesCollaborate effectively with various departments, functions, and leadership team members to align on project goals and strategiesPlan and allocate resources effectively to optimize project outcomesProvide strategic, scientific and managerial guidance within an outsourced medicinal and synthetic chemistry frameworkContribute to the overall scientific direction and success of the organization's current and future pipelineThese Qualifications Will Help This Role Be Successful: Ph.D. or equivalent in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field10+ years of drug discovery experience within the biopharmaceutical industry, including a demonstrated strong track record of scientific innovation and success in delivering clinical candidatesIn-depth understanding of drug discovery processes, including ADME/PK, pharmacology, physicochemical property optimization, computational chemistry, and safety/toxicology considerationsEstablished record of success in application of structure-based drug design to clinical candidatesExperienced leading multidisciplinary drug discovery teams with experience in hit identification to development candidate and beyondSignificant experience managing synthetic chemistry activities with CROs in Asia and/or Eastern EuropeStrong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve scientific objectivesJoin Nimbus.
