DescriptionRobert Half is in search for a Director of Accounting. The Director of Accounting is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all accounting activities related to the corporation and its subsidiaries. Leading the accounting team, this role ensures the integrity of accounting information by establishing quality control over financial transactions and reporting. Please reach out if interested! Responsibilities:Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.Implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance and enhance efficiency.Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting, managing all aspects of the general ledger.Coordinate with government agencies for compliance and reporting as well as tax filings.Mentor and develop the accounting team, promoting a culture of excellence.Support department heads and the VP of accounting and Finance in decision-making processes.Engage and manage all external audits.Provide strategic insights based on financial analysis to support business growth.Confirm financial statements are in compliance with bank covenants monthly.Reconcile entire trial balance and confirm accuracy of information.Assist with the implementation and transformation into Netsuite. RequirementsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA or Master's degree being advantageous.A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within a consumer products distribution company with multiple subsidiaries. Expertise in GAAP and comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting.Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.Advanced proficiency in Netsuite or other similar platforms, Shopify, and MS Office, especially Excel. Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively presenting financial data to all levels of the organization.Ability to mentor and develop staff in accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, tax and overall accounting. Consumer Packaged Goods Industry, NetSuite, Month-end close and GL accounting experienceJob typePerm
