Director of Activities Full Time The primary purpose of your job position is to provide treatment services and recreational activities for individuals with disabilities or illnesses, using a variety of techniques to improve and maintain the physical, cognitive, social, spiritual and emotional well-being of the residents.
Responsibilities:Provide care to residents to reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively so that they can enjoy greater independence and reduce or eliminate the effects of their illness or disability.Prepare residents with disabilities to integrate into the community by teaching them how to use community resources and recreational activities.Use leisure activities—especially structured group programs—to improve and maintain the residents' general health and well-being.Develop and carry out activities consistent with the resident's needs and interests, encouraging residents who are isolated from others or who have limited social skills to play games and interact with others.Instruct residents in relaxation techniques to reduce stress and tension, stretching and limbering exercises, proper body mechanics for participation in recreational activities, pacing and energy conservation techniques, and team activities.Observe and document a resident's participation, reactions, and progress.Use interventions to develop specific skills, while providing opportunities for exercise, mental stimulation, creativity, and fun.Requirements:One year experience as a Director of Activities in a Skilled Nursing or Health Care setting.Must be a Certified Activity Director.We are proud to offer:Competitive Rates401(k) Retirement PlanHealthcare benefits (medical, dental and vision)Paid time off
