Director of Business Development — Life SciencesBusiness Development Executive – Consulting Arrayo is hiring an experienced, top-performing Business Development professional specializing in Life Sciences who will focus on finding and growing net-new clients.
This is an executive-level sales role that supports the founders of the company.
The role demands an experienced hunter-entrepreneur, with significant C-Level relationships and a deep understanding of today's life sciences industry issues, and their strategic implications to potential clients across specific market segments.
In addition, the executive will also mentor and coach an existing team of Business Developers.
Candidates will be expected to have a proven track record of developing new client relationships, with an emphasis on large, strategically transformative strategy or technology-led programs.
In addition, candidates will be expected to have extensive business development experience and existing relationships within the Life Sciences industry (more specifically in the areas of Regulatory Technology, data engineering, data governance and data management, data science, ML/AI, or quantitative analytics).
The Director of Business Development will be expected to further deepen Arrayo's expertise in these domains and increase the size of our footprint within our target industries.
The Director of Business Development will play a key role in growing Arrayo's business.
More specifically, they will have three core responsibilities:
Lead by example and work on finding their own clients and building out their business within Arrayo.
Responsible for the entire business development process from lead sourcing to client prospection, to selling services to key decision makers at clients, to building and managing our service delivery teams, and to managing existing client relationships.Advise Arrayo's executive management and board on the strategic direction of the company and manage the implementation of strategic initiatives.Manage and coach our existing team of Business Developers and guide them in building out their own business.The role has a national scope with a focus on the Northeast, specific offering portfolios and clients.
The Team The Director of Business Development supports Arrayo's businesses in uncovering, nurturing, and closing sales opportunities.
They will focus their highly skilled efforts in developing relationships with qualified targets and decision makers to uncover opportunities, develop effective sales strategies, manage the pursuit process and act as a key advisor to the pursuit team throughout the sales process.
Our current Business Development team consists of the founders of the company and a team of 3 Business Developers who are part of our Intrapreneurship Program.
Job Responsibilities The Director of Business Development is both an individual contributor hunter-entrepreneur, responsible for securing new clients and driving incremental consulting revenue for services and solutions and a mentor leading by example, who will use their experience and skills to help, guide, manage, and lead Business Developers in growing their business.
Job responsibilities include:
Develop tactical and strategic plans to grow Arrayo's footprint within the Life Sciences industry.Implement strategic initiatives through a hands-on approach growing our portfolio of clients and projects.Understand the industry and competitive landscape in order to differentiate Arrayo's offerings.Collaborate with Arrayo's leadership to formulate and drive various go-to-market priority sales campaigns that create demand and generate incremental pipeline.Identify and influence key decision-makers at all levels within the client organization.Articulate Arrayo's unique value proposition and develop strategic win themes for proposals.Partner with Arrayo's service delivery leaders to present our value proposition to C-suite level executives.Advise on marketing initiatives to support the business development team's prospection.Represent Arrayo at client meetings, industry conferences and networking events in support of our business development efforts.Stay up to date with the latest trends, approaches, and technologies to help evolve Arrayo's service portfolio.Support the career development of our service delivery team members through mentorship, training, and regular feedback.Maintain and nurture existing client relationships.Qualifications Prior success in a substantially similar role, enterprise sales, consulting professional, or the equivalent of an experienced industry-focused consulting sales professional.
Prior track record in business development and sales within the Life Sciences field preferred.Proven ability to develop and nurture long-term relationships with industry leaders and experts and other referral sources across a variety of Life Science sub sector industries.7+ years of experience in professional services selling customized services.Developing and utilizing pre-existing network of clients or contacts in the Life Sciences marketplace.Success to develop strategies and tactics that drive targeting programs and campaigns that win new business.Extensive knowledge of the Life Sciences space that increases account penetration and leads to increased revenue opportunities with new clients for consulting services.Tangible success in working closely with service delivery leaders to sell and deliver high-value customized services to clients.Skillful at preparing and presenting (virtually and in-person) in-depth and comprehensive proposals to key decision-makers at large corporations.Passion for mentoring and guiding Business Development talent.Preferred Advanced degree a plus.Base Pay: $120-160k/year.Comprehensive salary and benefits package including commissions, 401k, health insurance, etc.Arrayo is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and as such does not discriminate against any applicant for employment or employee on the basis of race, color, religious creed, gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status or any other classification protected by applicable discrimination laws.
