Summary:
Secure and service event sales business from our group market as well as secure weddings and social events through active and effective promotion, solicitation, and prospecting, while maintaining Viceroy standards and maximizing revenue/profit potential.
Job Duties:
Exceptionally strong ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
Strong selling and interpersonal skills, high level of creativity and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast-paced client-driven environment.
Track record of developing long-term relationships and contacts.
Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
Actively solicit new business and respond to inquiries with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving quarterly sales goals. Maintain an active trace/follow-up system on all inquiries and personal sales calls.
Conduct property tours and entertain planners of meetings, social events, and weddings.
Develop menus and agendas, ensure BEO's are issued, and complete all pertinent correspondence with outside vendors to finalize programs.
Maintain current information on and monitor booking trends.
Responsible for booking and handling any large restaurant reservations in our private dining room for parties of 10 to 25 people that require a banquet event order.
Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Morning Manager Meeting, Morning Event Sales Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting, Pre-Convention Meetings, Menu Tastings, and Planning Visits.
Coordinate the sales efforts between sales department and event sales to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues.
Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through up-selling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event. Prepare a monthly booking report.
Keep Director of Sales promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
Supervise the execution of banquet events. Review all function space with the banquet manager and when required head house attendant. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events.
Comply with Viceroy and Eastwest standards for sales and marketing, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee.
Assist Group Event Services Department as required, particularly during large group movements.
Assist with all guest inquiries within the Sales/Event Sales/Group Services Department, including assistance with high telephone volume and walk-in site inspections.
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.
Be fully versed in the facilities and capabilities of the resorts competitive set.
Maintain a visible presence in the community through involvement with Industry associations.
Assist in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase catering activity, volume, and profit.

Pay Rate:
$90k to $100k plus Quarterly Incentive Plan

Job Requirements:
Education:
College Education preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years previous catering sales experience, minimum 3 years of wedding sales & servicing.
Systems:
Proficient in Delphi, Social Tables, MS Word, Excel, and ability to use Outlook e-mail and the Internet.
