Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to oversee the daily operations and drive efficiency and growth at C.O.S.Kids Childcare Development Campus. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, childcare regulations in the state of NC, strategic planning, and leadership.
Prerequisites:
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development or related degree (Associate degree may be considered).
NC Child Care Administrative Credentials - Level 3 preferred.
Significant experience in childcare, with knowledge of both child development and the use of developmental curriculum.
Strong administrative, leadership and supervisory skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Ability to relate well to parents, children, and staff.
Flexibility to meet daily challenges in a childcare environment and availability during varied work hours as needed.
Share the vision of COSKids Child Development Campus as an outreach to the community.
Pass state of NC requirements: fingerprint and criminal background check, TB test, annual physical examination.
Possess or be willing to obtain (within 8 weeks of hire) current certification in Pediatric CPR/First Aid, BSAC, Playground Safety, ITS/SIDS, Emergency Preparedness.

Key Position Duties:
Administration:
Operate the Children's Programs in compliance with NC licensing standards regarding child-teacher ratios, teacher education, and program standards.
Manage a physical environment that meets NC licensing standards of health, sanitation, nutrition, and safety.
Responsible for all new employee licensing paperwork requirements.
Develop and communicate daily and weekly schedules for classroom and support staff.
Monitor maintenance of COS vans.
Supervise the requisition of supplies, equipment, and materials.
Interview and hire qualified staff, providing orientation and training.
Manage the enrollment of children and maintain complete student records.
Spearhead the maintenance of paper and electronic files and records.
Conduct tours and promote the programs of COSKids.
Leadership of Programs:
Establish and execute policies that ensure the well-being of children.
Create an environment that gives parents/guardians confidence in the care of their children.
Determine classroom placement of children.
Maintain a respectful environment of diverse cultures and values.
Establish relationships with families and respond to their needs.
Provide care in classrooms that meets safety and licensing regulations.
Maintain communication with families through handbooks and newsletters.
Provide opportunities for parent/guardian growth and education.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Create monthly Board reports.
Other Functions:
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of children's programs.
