Position Overview:
The Director of Commercial Contracts and Pricing is an integral role within our life sciences startup, leading the creation, negotiation, and management of critical documents that enable business growth and client engagement.
As an individual contributor you will spearhead the development of Statements of Work (SOWs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs/CDAs), ensuring that all opportunities are accurately quoted and documented for execution.
The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can effectively liaise with internal teams and external partners to facilitate seamless contract flow and uphold the organization's contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and maintain version control of SOWs, MSAs, and NDAs/CDAs.Act as the primary point of contact for new work opportunity requests, collaborating with the business development and commercial teams to convert leads into detailed SOWs.Ensure real-time updates and maintenance of standard terms and conditions for SOWs, reflecting current company policies and industry standards.Coordinate with legal resources to negotiate and finalize contracts, supporting commercial representatives in customer engagements.Establish strategic pricing models and maintain oversight of the contract lifecycle to optimize business outcomes.Develop and uphold template documents for key business agreements, ensuring consistency and compliance across all client interactions.Manage a comprehensive contract database, providing stakeholders with timely access to current documents and status updates.Facilitate the resolution of contractual issues, applying expertise to mitigate risks and advance the company's interests.Engage with organizational leaders to align contract strategy with broader business goals and initiatives.Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Science or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in contract management or a related function, preferably within the life sciences or healthcare sector.Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles related to contracts and agreements.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes in a business setting.Proficiency in utilizing contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to maintain confidentiality.The role is dynamic and fast-paced, interfacing with various levels of management, external clients, and cross-functional teams.
While the position is primarily office-based, occasional travel may be required to support business needs.
