Director of Contracts
Sterling Heights, MI
Direct Salary: 200,000- 230,000
Fulltime opportunity with a leader in the industry.
As the Contracts Director you will play an integral role within the organization, overseeing the development, negotiation, and review of contracts with our global customers, particularly our U.S. government customers.
This position ensures that agreements entered by company align with strategic goals and comply with legal and regulatory standards.
By managing the contract lifecycle from inception to conclusion, you will facilitate smooth business operations and partnerships.
Key Job Elements:
· Oversee the development, negotiation, and execution of business contracts to ensure they meet company objectives, policies and legal requirements
· Lead the U.S. Contracts team, including resource strategy and management, hiring, training and performance evaluation, to ensure efficient and effective contract management processes
· Implement and manage contract management tools, systems and procedures to streamline operations and enhance productivity
· Collaborate with internal departments, such as program office, legal, finance and procurement, to align contract terms with company strategies and risk management policies
· Analyze contract performance and financial implications to provide strategic recommendations and optimize business opportunities
· Facilitate dispute resolution related to contracts, working closely with legal counsel to mitigate risks and protect company interests
· Serve as a customer-facing representative focused on building trusted relationships with customers
· Conduct audits of existing contracts and oversee the renewal process, ensuring compliance with changing laws, regulations, and company objectives
· Provide strategic guidance supporting pricing strategies for proposals
· Preferred Qualifications: 10 plus years of experience in Contracts, Programs, Supply Chain, or related disciplines.
· Demonstrated ability to balance contractual risk and business opportunities, exhibiting a strong understanding of financial impacts to business objectives
· Experience leading teams to achieve common goals and objectives
· Experience in complex proposal development, pricing, negotiation and resolution of contractual issues
· Familiarity with U.S. government contracting regulations and processes
· University degree in business, law and/or equivalent work experience
· 10 plus years of experience in Contracts, Programs, Supply Chain, or related disciplines.
· Ability to possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
