Director of Finance Job SummaryThe Director of Finance will be a strategic partner to the President and executive team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring the financial health of the company, and supporting the company's growth objectives. The Director will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy, managing financial risks, and leading the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning and Leadership:Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's long-term goals.Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and executive team on financial matters.Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.Financial Management:Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, tax, and treasury.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Manage cash flow, investments, and financing activities.Risk Management:Identify, assess, and manage financial risks.Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations and standards.Operational Efficiency:Optimize financial and accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Implement best practices in financial and accounting management and operations.Oversee the development and maintenance of financial models and metrics.Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Ensure the accounting team supports business operations and decision-making.Stakeholder Management:Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions.Prepare and present financial reports.Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including banks.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role.Experience in the construction or specialty electrical industry is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.Proven track record of strategic planning and execution.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.Skills and Competencies:Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:The estimated base range for this role is: $120,000 - $160,000. This position is bonus eligible. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, internal equity and alignment with market data.
