Position Summary:
As Director of Finance, in the US regional operations of Jet Aviation, you will be responsible for leading a number of strategic and project-oriented initiatives.
You will also function as the primary liaison, and subject matter expert (SME) on tax related matters between the US lines of business and the General Dynamics tax department.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in managing projects from initiation to completion, including scope definition, timeline management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
This is a hybrid role, with a requirement of being on-site a minimum of three days per week, based out of our Teterboro, NJ location.
The baseline salary range will be: $125,000 - $155,000.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide strategic support to US region by working with Finance VP, lines of business VPs, and US SVP to evaluate business growth/expansion opportunities.
Preparation of business cases in support of future business initiatives in the US region.
Lead and support global and regional projects impacting the finance department.
Responsible for the supervision and direction of department staff, including setting strategic goals, providing mentorship and coaching, fostering professional development, and ensuring team alignment with organizational objectives.
Organize meetings with stakeholders and prepare regular project summaries/updates.
Work closely with Group Finance to document and maintain accounting policies & procedures and participate in development of future changes.
Manage implementation of accounting standards with team members in US region.
Prepare white papers as needed to address complex accounting questions.
Participate in review of new and amended leases to apply proper accounting treatment.
Work with GD Tax department to implement tax policy and procedures in US region.
Work with GD tax to prepare quarterly tax forecasts and annual cash tax budget.
Prepare tax reporting to ensure compliance with applicable tax statutes.
Oversee the preparation of various tax roll-forward schedules.
Support all US region business units with entity specific tax & compliance inquiries.
Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested.
Other duties may be assigned, as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of corporate accounting and/or finance experience.
Proven background in tax advisory and compliance services with a Big 4 consulting environment, with a strong understanding of corporate tax regulations, strategic tax planning and client engagement.
Demonstrated experience in managing projects from initiation to completion, including scope definition, timeline management, resource allocation, and risk mitigation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Able to meet deadlines and demonstrate effective follow-up on assigned tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong command of Excel, including advanced functions, data analysis, pivot tables and financial modeling.
