Position Purpose:
The Director of Gift Revenue Operations oversees the strategic management, leads the operational execution of gift revenue processing, financial management, data analysis, and compliance related to philanthropic support of Dartmouth.

Description:
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including supervisory experience
Experience in financial management, preferably in revenue management
Management and administrative skills required to motivate, direct, and evaluate staff to accomplish goals; talent for coaching and mentoring
Excellent people skills and proven ability to work across and throughout a complex organization, including ability to foster inclusiveness and diversity; highly collegial and service-oriented, while simultaneously ensuring compliance and internal controls.
Demonstrated strategic thinking capabilities, with analytic and problem-solving skills
Highly effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; capacity to deal with a wide range of relationships and situations; high degree of professionalism and discretion
Strong project management skills: ability to organize, plan and execute projects; strong attention to detail
Knowledge of complex computer applications, workflow, and data management
Willingness to take on risk to innovate by recognizing problems and generating new ideas and solutions
Familiarity with legal issues surrounding 501 organizations and IRS publications (such as Pub 526), rules and regulations that define eligibility and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degrees or certifications in finance or accounting preferred. CPA credentials a plus.

Team Leadership and Service Management:
Supervises and leads the gift revenue operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Responsible for coaching, professional development, and skill building to enhance team performance and support individual growth, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals. Collaborates with internal departments to maximize donor engagement and coordinate fundraising efforts effectively. Provides regular updates to Advancement leadership and key stakeholders on gift revenue performance and fundraising strategies. Stays informed about emerging trends and best practices in fundraising and philanthropy. Represents Gift Revenue Operations in executive meetings of the Advancement Systems and Services Team.

Description:
Gift Revenue Operations and Financial Management:
Establishes quality control standards and processes for the collection, recording, and maintenance of gift revenues, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Manages the accurate recording, receipting, and reconciliation of gifts and pledges, including coordination with finance for fund creation and documentation. Oversees donor acknowledgement processes and maintains gift-related data accuracy in constituent databases and accounting systems. Serves as a subject matter expert on gift revenue policies, processes, and procedures. Supports the Executive Director for escalation of Gift Acceptance Committee items related to due diligence, gift documentation, and gift acceptance.

Data, Systems, Analysis, and Reporting:
Utilizes data analytics tools to track and analyze gift revenue performance, providing insights for decision-making and service line enhancements. Leverages reports and dashboards to support senior staff and administrators in fundraising progress and campaign reporting. Identifies opportunities for reporting enhancements, system improvements, and innovative changes to boost the efficiency and value of gift revenue operations.

Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensures compliance with policies, laws and regulations governing fundraising activities and donor relationships. Develops policies related to gift acceptance, administration, and financial management. Serves as a liaison to auditors and ensures appropriate documentation and compliance with audit requirements. Collaborates with others and acts as a resource to determine that the use of gift funds is consistent with donors' intentions; interprets donor restrictions and intentions; verifies compliance with established gift acceptance and administration policies. Promotes ethical guidelines, policies and practices related to managing privacy and confidentiality and appropriately safeguards constituent and donor information, payment information, proprietary data, reports, and analysis.
