This position involves shaping HR policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws, driving employee engagement, and acting as a strategic advisor to senior management. The HR Director will lead initiatives to enhance the employee experience, manage HR operations, and support organizational objectives through innovative people strategies. Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):Develop, implement, and oversee HR policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.Provide expert guidance and training to managers and employees on HR best practices, employee relations, and conflict resolution.Lead and manage the resolution of complex employee relations issues, including conducting investigations, addressing grievances, and ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.Ensure accurate and secure employee records, compliance with confidentiality standards, and adherence to employment laws across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., New York, New Jersey, and California).Collaborate with leadership to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that align with the company's values and business strategies.Partner with senior leaders to align HR strategies with business goals, addressing workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning.Design and deliver ongoing training programs, workshops, and people management sessions to develop leadership capabilities across the organization.Oversee change management efforts during organizational transitions such as mergers, acquisitions, or restructures, ensuring minimal disruption to employees.Develop strategies to boost employee engagement and satisfaction, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making.Lead compliance efforts with wage and hour laws, employee classifications, leave entitlements, and workplace safety standards.Build and sustain effective cross-functional partnerships, including working with Legal and Compliance teams to mitigate risks and proactively address potential HR issues.Promote operational excellence by creating systems and processes that support efficient day-to-day HR functions.Monitor and analyze employee relations trends, making recommendations for continuous improvement to support a positive and productive work environment.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field (e.g., Employment Law).10+ years in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or Labor Relations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employee relations, and employment law.Strong skills in workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and mediation.Familiarity with multi-state compliance requirements (New York, New Jersey, California preferred).Proven ability to lead diverse teams, deliver training programs, and foster a high-performance culture.Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong communication, business writing, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficient with HRIS systems and data analytics tools to support decision-making.Experience aligning HR practices with organizational goals and navigating change management initiatives.This is an onsite position at our New Jersey office. *United Legwear & Apparel Company is interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
