About Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority: The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides transportation services for 150,000-200,000 customers on a typical weekday, or about 45 million rides annually, through a variety of services. The Greater Cleveland RTA is searching for an experienced Director of Information Technologies. Position Summary: The Director of Information Technology (IT) develops the IT department's strategic plan, establishes the Authority's IT governance policies and standards for technology use, data management, and cybersecurity. Is responsible for the IT department budget, procurements, and resource allocation. Manages large-scale IT projects. Manages the Authority's IT infrastructure, systems maintenance and upgrades, and cybersecurity systems and programs. Is expected to 'walk the shoes' of the customer, and influence company strategy to optimize customer experience. Manages the IT budget, including expense forecasting for new technologies, system maintenance, and upgrades. Manages relationships with vendors and suppliers, tracks vendor performance, and reviews/oversees contracts for software, hardware, and other technologies. Manages large-scale IT projects, such as the deployment of new transit management systems, IT infrastructure systems, smart infrastructure systems, and/or upgrades to the fleet and asset management systems. Ensures project deadlines, budgets, and performance standards are met; collaborates with stakeholders to align IT solutions with operational needs; researches new technology and software systems. Oversees the development of digital customer service platforms; improves the customer experience by ensuring that technology solutions enhance accessibility, ease of use, and customer satisfaction. Leads the IT department with hiring, training, and mentoring staff to ensure the team is well-equipped to handle the demands of a public transportation system. Works closely with operations, finance, customer service, and maintenance departments to integrate technology into the organization's daily activities. Minimum Requirements: • 7 to 9 years of experience with implementation and management of technology • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, public administration, or related field and experience Additional Details Working Conditions: The working conditions described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
