Director of Molecular Pathology Services ***REMOTE POSITION**** Fully Remote (prefer someone who lives or can relocate to RTP Durham, NC) Salary up to $425k/yr $60 Annual Bonus (30k Guaranteed & $30k Based on performance), $25k in Equity CALL OR TEXT KATHY @ 551-795-1471 Position Summary: As the Director you will be responsible for Molecular Oncology utilizing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, PCR, fragment analysis or other techniques by performing all necessary tasks involved in the processing of patient samples, with accuracy and efficiency, essential to render a diagnosis and/or prognosis of acquired and inherited molecular genetic oncology disorders/diseases. In addition, the pathologist will be responsible for providing safe and efficient Pathology and laboratory services for company and will provide advice on pathology and laboratory matters and professional pathology and laboratory standards of practice. Responsibilities: Provide, schedule and oversee activities related to clinical molecular pathology services with evaluation of specimens received at company Provide leadership to the medical group and scientific team by applying innovated concepts to the personalized medical oncology arena. Areas of responsibility may include participating in sales support, training and development of new physicians and other employees, standard of care, process improvement, IT support or other areas, as needed. Ensure effective communication and collaboration between medical staff and lab personnel. Supervisors both molecular pathologists and senior molecular pathologists in their daily duties, including coordinating work schedules across work teams May provide training throughout the organization, including to new members who are not direct reports or to allied non-medical personnel. Provides ongoing feedback and annual performance evaluations to direct reports Performs interpretation of molecular results to include next generation sequencing as well as electronic release of reviewed cases, Performs quality control and assurance procedures and participates in departmental professional quality control and quality assurance activities. Participates in day-to-day operations, including molecular case sign out with full time availability to interact with our clients for Pre-Analytical, Analytical, and Post-Analytical questions. Experience & Required Qualifications: Education: M.D. or D.O. degree required Board certification in Molecular Genetics Pathology through the American Board of Pathology or Medical Genetics or Clinical Molecular Genetics through the American Board of Medical Genetics At least five (5) years' experience signing out Molecular Oncology cases, including NGS Active unrestricted Medical License to practice in the state of FL or CA based on laboratory assignment Proven track record as a productive member of a multi-disciplinary team, including a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers in senior management A proven record of obtaining required information related to identifying needs and potential solutions, analyzing or improvising the most appropriate solution, and determining and documenting the most appropriate course of action. Proven experience using an automated laboratory information system (LIS) which features on-line transcription and reporting, and electronic signature. Superior communication, collaboration, business and clinical judgment, emphasis on turnaround time, and organizational development skills are absolutely essential for success.
