We are now seeking an experienced and detailed orientated Director of Nursing to continue to provide that exceptional service.
The Director of Nursing shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Direction and consultative support to staff nurses, paraprofessionals, Client Services
Representatives and other staff to provide effective service to patients including:
Assessment of patient and family health needs; development of plans to meet these needs, implementation of direct nursing services and evaluation of outcomes of nursing interventions.
Coordination of all services relating directly to patient welfare via collaboration with health care team members (e.g.
SW, MD, Care Managers, etc.)
Promotion of growth and development of all nursing personnel for the attainment of optimum effective patient care:
Participates in the selection and hiring of nursing staff, both professional and paraprofessional.
Oversees the orientation of new nursing staff members.
Assistance in identifying the need for evaluation and service by other modalities.
Assistance to staff in setting priorities and developing plans for the physical, psycho-social and environmental care needs of the client.
Instruction and demonstration of record-keeping, technical, teaching or interviewing skills to staff as needed.
Development of plans for ongoing in-service education, helping staff in recognizing their own needs for review and study of material which will promote more effective service.
Evaluation of staff job performance, quality of patient care and general program effectiveness:
In-depth review of the clinical content, interpretation and implications of the client's diagnosis, medical history, medications and other procedures, therapeutic or health promotional goals and emotional reactions to levels of wellness, treatments, health teaching, etc.
Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Company's Quality Improvement Program.
Review and evaluation through a variety of means such as home visits, conferences, record review, etc.
Discussion of impressions with staff in order to verify, instruct and assist in promoting more effective performance.
Recommendations for transfers, promotions, merit increments, terminations.
Recognizing staff health and personal needs and discussing these with the appropriate manager when indicated.
Participation in record and program review procedures and in team conferences, and in the maintenance and revision of the agency's clinical policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance of nursing staff, both professional and paraprofessional, to any and all Federal, state, local and other regulatory standards and guidelines.
The Director of Nursing shall posses:
An Ohio RN Licence
At least 5 years of Long Term Care Experience
At least 2 years of management experience
