Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment Leadership and Staffing: Oversee the implementation of active treatment programs, interview and hire staff, manage clinical competence, create staff schedules, and approve leave requests to ensure optimal department performance.
Strategic Alignment and Resource Management: Align departmental activities with strategic goals and oversee resource management, including staffing levels, skill mix, and operating expenses.
Compliance and Policy Development: Develop, administer, and communicate departmental policies and procedures in accordance with TJC, state, federal, and local requirements.
Problem-Solving and Employee Relations: Resolve complex clinical, technical, or managerial problems; assist in resolving employee relations issues; and take corrective action as needed.
Policy Interpretation and Communication: Interpret facility policies, manage employee performance in a large or diverse department, and present to senior management, requiring strong communication and persuasion skills.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Required: For roles outside California a master's degree in nursing, a related health care or medical service, behavioral or rehabilitative science field.
For California-based roles, graduation from an accredited school of nursing.Experience: Required: For roles outside of California, five (5) years managerial work experience.
For California-based roles, one (1) year of nursing supervision experience within the last five (5) years.Preferred: Experience in a forensic or mental health setting.Licenses/Certifications: Required: Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment or possess a multi-state compact license recognized by the State of employment to practice professional nursing.Required: Two (2) plus years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness or multiple disabilities.We are an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action EmployerWe celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
