WORK HOURS: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
OFFICE LOCATION: City of Atlanta, Physical address 680 Murphy Ave. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310 (Located inside The Met). This position also includes a hybrid work schedule including one remote day and 4 in-office days on average.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Director of Operations is responsible for managing the daily activities of the Foundation by overseeing organizational activities and departments. The position will direct actions across the organization to increase revenues, improve efficiency and reduce costs as needed. The position will also promote organizational growth and will ensure team members are well-versed in the actions necessary for the Foundation's success.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of the Foundation in a manner that ensures organizational progress Supervising and routinely evaluating staff and providing constructive feedback as well as evaluation parameters Working with superior to make decisions for operational activities Setting strategic goals for departments and personnel Regularly evaluating the efficiency of the Foundation according to organizational objectives and then applying approved improvements Managing processes and the allocation of resources Making operational budget adjustment recommendations to promote growth and best stewardship practices Formulating and/or revising Foundation policies and promoting their implementation Managing relationships with external partners/vendors Evaluating overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics Assisting with the hiring and training of employees Representing the organization in the community as appropriate. Other duties may be assigned as necessary QUALIFICATIONS: Must embrace the mission of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation and Atlanta Fire Rescue Department Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must represent a sense of respect to all encountered. Must have ability to work successfully in an interdisciplinary team. Must exemplify professionalism while representing the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as the position requires direct interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills that exhibit "follow through" on tasks and goals. First-class people skills Proven operations and management experience In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles Ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent interpersonal skills to develop & strengthen long-term relationships. Comfortable with public speaking. Must possess a managerial and leadership presence – the ability to influence without authority. Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff and other volunteers. Be a self-starter Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening abilities. Must have reliable personal transportation, a valid GA driver's license and must have active GA driver's insurance. EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience. Minimum of 7+ years of operations and management experience. Technology and cyber security systems experience also preferred. Experience handling confidential information. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This role supports Executive Staff and directly reports to the President & CEO. (Subject to Change)
SALARY Range: $90,000 to 100,000 commensurate with education and experience. Selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to start date.
