Your role on the team: Ensures operational compliance for ocean freight products regarding FMC regulations, AMS, AES, dangerous goods and legal requirementsPrepares reports for operational use and compliance, such as achieved rates, FMC compliance, Milestone compliance and performanceOversee the day-to-day operations of the ocean freight department.
This includes, developing and implementing strategies, escalations and ensuring that all shipments are processed efficiently and on time.Develop and maintain relationships with ocean carriers, truckers and co loaders.
This is essential for securing competitive rates and ensuring that shipments are delivered on time and in good condition.Monitor the ocean freight market and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
This includes tracking rates, capacity, and demand, as well as developing new strategies for managing shipments.Work with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and customer service, to ensure that ocean freight needs are met.
This includes providing input on pricing, lead times, and other factors that can affect customer satisfaction.Develop and implement training programs for ocean freight staff.
This is important for ensuring that staff are up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in ocean freight.Stay up to date on industry regulations and trends.
