Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $75.051 - $96.840 - $118.629
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Primary responsibilities include providing administrative oversight and direction for the Perioperative Continuum. He/she is accountable for planning, directing, leading and growth of the six diverse departments that make up the perioperative area, which includes the operating room, post anesthesia care unit, surgical procedural area, pre-anesthesia evaluation services, and sterile processing. The Director of Perioperative Services is responsible for assuring the highest quality of patient care and professional services, excellence in service delivery to patients, physicians, and team members, and optimal utilization of the facility. The director will nurture physician relationships, achieve established financial objectives, and identify opportunities for growth.

Required Qualifications 3 years progressive leadership and management experience in the perioperative areas.California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing - REQUIREDAHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED Preferred Qualifications 5 years of leadership and management experience.3 years of experience in acute health care environment.3 years of Operating Room experience (Circulating/Scrubbing).CNOR experience.Union environment experience. Other Qualification Requirements Graduate degree is required upon hire or completed within six months of hire date. If candidate has BSN, then MSN or related graduate degree (MHA, MBA, MPH) is acceptable. If candidate does not have BSN, then graduate degree must be MSN.Six Sigma Green Belt preferred. Lean Six Sigma training preferred. Essential Functions Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.Determines direction, goals, and objectives of assigned areas and ensures implementation of strategic and operating plans.Directs the development of short- and long-term plans and budgets for assigned areas.Develops, recommends, and implements organizational policies and objectives.Organizes services and systems necessary for the multidisciplinary approach throughout the continuum of care; assumes responsibility for the clinical and financial performance of the department.Responsible for the ongoing quality/performance improvement processes related to patient care.Ensures overall operations management, inclusive of cost management, quality of services delivered, employee and resources management, total care delivery, and contract services.Promotes and supports a collaborative team approach in providing care for all patients.Acts as a liaison for the unit(s) and provides physicians, families, and ancillary departments with direction and/or assistance as needed.Supports and interprets policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the hospital.Facilitates staff analysis and improvement plans for employee satisfaction workgroup.Monitors customer satisfaction scores and implements plans to improve them.Monitors patient volumes, quality of care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement.Develops and administers a budget; leads cost efficient and effective operations, creates plan of correction for any operating expenses that deviate from budget.Uses problem solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.Consistently and positively communicates with staff members, physicians, patients, and visitors.Effective at working with and managing multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Affiliation with professional National Association.Knowledge of state, federal, and TJC compliance guidelines.Demonstrate excellent communication, organization, management, and leadership skills.Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with physicians, entity and system projects/work teams.Demonstrate the ability to provide high quality customer service to all customers served.Prefer knowledge of NCQA, JCAHO, and other accreditation agency standards.Computer skills to include experience with electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and various customer service database programs.Sharp HealthCare is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
