The Director of Finance, Product Organization will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and other financial planning and analysis duties in support of the global Product Organization. This is a high visibility finance business partner role requiring significant interaction with peers, cross-functional teams, and executive leadership. The position reports to the SVP of FP&A.
Primary responsibilities include: Serve as Finance Business Partner to the EVP and Chief Product & Technology Officer and the Product Organization leadership team.Serve as an extended Product Organization leadership team member, contributing and influencing at the senior leadership level.Lead three employees to drive the FP&A activities.Manage all financial planning activities for the Product Organization, including annual operating plan, monthly forecast, and management reporting.Provide analytical thought leadership and ensure use of robust methodologies for all planning and analysis activities.Design and implement a comprehensive financial metrics tracking and management reporting process.Responsible for monthly and quarterly analysis: Understand inputs from operations partners to develop the flux analysis for the Product Organization and FP&A management team. Understand the business reasons for year over year, quarter over quarter and actual to forecast changes. Deliver clear verbal and written explanations that translate findings into strategic recommendations. Build reconciliations for management to understand key variances to plan.Partner with functional operations in ensuring all planned expenses (e.g. headcount planning, and other Operating Expense) appropriately align with revenue plans.Assist departments in staying within budget and identifying cost savings and effective uses of resources.Prepare/review month and quarter-end accounting entries and participate in monthly corporate close meetings.Drive continuous process improvements in reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities through automation, consolidation, and quality improvement.Perform routine and ad hoc financial analyses.Skills Required: Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.8-12 years of related experience, business partner role in direct support of an Engineering or Product organization is preferred.Experience in large, complex organizations is advantageous.Excellent business acumen and partnering skills, with ability to effectively challenge and influence business stakeholders.Excellent communicator, able to discuss issues with teams and management with clarity and diplomacy.Strong financial modeling and data analysis experience to support data-driven decision making.Must be highly organized, have a natural drive for results, and be able to work on multiple projects/analysis at the same time that vary widely in scope, size, and type.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, attention to detail.Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion Planning highly preferred.
