Job Purpose

The Director of Project Management for Rack and Cooling Solutions is responsible for managing product design, redesign, and test development projects to support customers' cooling programs in the data center ecosystem. The position will provide interface, communication, and coordination with internal and external customers on matters pertaining to new and existing projects. Will also support bid and proposal activities.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

The primary functional oversight responsibilities are:

Institute and maintain appropriate project management processes with customers.

Ensure product development and qualifications are achieved timely with compliance.

Work with sales to manage projections and anticipated projects.

Maintain tight planning and collaboration with the design execution team, sales, and the manufacturing operations.

Forecast anticipated resource needs.

Work with Sanmina's technology partners.

Participate in contract authoring and negotiations.

Participate in the creation of Statements of Work.

Facilitate the design delivery process.

Ensure the quality of all deliverables.

Manage transfer of the designs to manufacturing operations.

Manage the ramp to mature production.

Scope / Change management.

Manage project financials / profitability.

Drive Customer Satisfaction.

Ensure proper training of new staff.

The successful candidate will have significant experience managing the product realization process for cooling solutions and products dedicated to the data center ecosystem, including hyper scale customers. The candidate must have experience in the end-to-end process of project planning, requirements management, risk management, documentation, design processes, test processes, and manufacturing. 8+ years experience in managing complex projects and a team of project managers, ideally with PMP certification and a bachelor's degree in a relevant course of study and a history of successful product realization and transfer to manufacturing is needed.

Education and Experience

8+ years relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Deep knowledge of project management tools and procedures.

Solid problem-solving skills.

Strong presentation skills.

Experience with managing manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling, and budget control.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

U.S. citizenship is required.

25-30% travel required.

Salary Range (annual):

$180,000 - $200,000

In addition, Sanmina provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
