The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive company revenue and expand the customer base. This role involves leading and mentoring the sales team, setting and achieving sales targets, analyzing market trends, and adapting strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Additionally, the Director of Sales cultivates relationships with key clients, collaborates with other departments to ensure alignment with broader company objectives, and monitors and reports on sales performance to senior management. Their leadership ensures the sales team is motivated, performance is tracked, and goals are consistently met or exceeded, contributing significantly to the overall success and growth of the business.
Key Experience Needed: Director of SalesMinimum of 10 years of sales experience with 3 years in a leadership role.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a sales team toward achieving its goals.Ability to develop strategic sales plans and make data-driven decisions to enhance sales effectiveness.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze market data, sales performance, and other relevant metrics to inform decision-making.Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)Construction and/or Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)Estimating or Sales and Management Experience (Preferred)Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.20% travel to meet with key customers or industry trade shows.Position Responsibilities: Director of SalesDevelop and implement strategic sales plans that align with the company's goals and objectives. This involves market analysis, forecasting, setting sales targets, and determining the best strategies to achieve these targets.Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team. This includes hiring and training sales staff, setting sales goals, evaluating performance, and providing ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities.Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and manage any issues that arise with clients.Oversee the execution of sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets. This involves monitoring sales metrics/KPI's, analyzing performance data, and adjusting strategies as necessary.Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, production, QA/AC, and accounting to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving the company's objectives.Conduct market research and analysis to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities.
