Supports the business/group leader in the effective development and support of the US Regulatory Relationship. The role involves supporting senior US Leaders in providing the appropriate risk and control story that demonstrates strong U.S. Governance. Contributes to a strong risk management culture through collaboration with other first line employees, and second & third line functions.

Supports the Managing Director in ensuring the ongoing supervisory relationship is strong through leading the reporting of incidents, ad-hoc requests, meetings and reporting. Further will act as the US subject matter expert for US prudential regulator examinations.
Acts as a strategic partner to ensure the program elements become an integrated component of the overall business/group strategies.
Acts as a subject matter expert in FFIEC guidance as it pertains to T&O.
Acts as a subject matter expert in the evaluation, development and implementation of an internal control system.
Prepares and briefs senior leaders on regulatory matters across multiple businesses/groups.
Supports the position on regulatory compliance issues by interpreting requirements (existing, new and emerging) and identifying, analyzing and addressing resultant gaps and issues, including those raised through the review of change initiatives.
Understands the identified risk exposures and supports the development of action plans required to mitigate identified risks.
Represents the business/group on Governance/Risk Working Groups/Forums and provides regular updates.
May consult to or serve on various committees and task forces.
Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Develops, documents and maintains business/group procedures updating and obtaining approvals as regulations or the operating environment changes and communicates changes to the business/group & relevant stakeholder groups.
Builds awareness, knowledge, and skills and, as necessary, provides communication, practical tools and ongoing support including making presentations, to promote a culture of risk identification and management.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications: Typically 9+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $128,000.00 - $238,000.00
Pay Type: Salaried
The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
