American Express' Global Advertising & Brand Management (GABM) teamis responsible forcreating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative branding,marketingand experiences. Within GABM sits the Global Brand Content & Media team whois responsible forbuilding best in class brand content across channels and audiences (including Amex's internal creative agency,OnBrand), driving impact and innovation through global media and analytics, and delivering cultural and brand platforms that bring the Powerful Backing of American Express to life.

The Director of Programmatic & Investment Optimization will lead technical elements of our mediaplans,andwill workhand-in-handwith teammates across the Global Media & Analytics team to ensure excellence in our approach to media buying.This individual will play a critical role inadvancing our use of technology, negotiating with partners,and tailoring media buying models to tactical needsbydeveloping a best-in-class approach to structuring and executing our campaigns.They willalso drive ourInvestmentOptimization strategy,partnering with key internal and external stakeholders toenhanceourevaluation of media opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities
Managethebuild outofour Programmatic & Investment Optimization team by settinga clear visionwith modernization, diligence, innovation, and rigor at its core
Work hand-in hand with our US Media team to evaluate and optimize our tactical buying approach, ensuring that each impression is delivered with precision across all channels
Enhance our technological infrastructure by assessing partner capabilities & features, with the aim of modernizing every element of our media buy
Develop a data-informed, highly-technical and replicable playbook for activating across channels, as well as a robust test & learn agenda
Advance our usage of data, upleveling our approach to audience modeling, segmentation, distribution, and matching
Interface directly with key stakeholders to drive our Investment Optimization approach, forming a strategic perspective and ensuring compatibility & follow-through within our tactical plans
Work across stakeholder teams to develop and inform media's planning and funding processes
Drive Enterprise collaboration by ensuring deep understanding of best practices, partner capabilities, and media innovation

Minimum Qualifications
Direct management & oversight oflarge-scalemedia campaignsrequired
Experience managing media agencies required
Media Agency background strongly preferred, with extensive experience directly managing digital media, adtech, data, and performance
Ability to distill down complex technical concepts into understandable communications
Inherent collaborative spirit and comfort in a matrixed environment; able to directly partner with US Media as well as Media Analytics teammates, working together and relying on each other's expertise to achieve campaign goals
Willingness to dedicate time and attention to developing multiple scenarios, approaches, and paths forward, many of which may not come to fruition
Strong partner management skills with proven ability to influence & negotiate
Proven track record to strategically assess opportunities and make data driven decisions resulting in tangible results while ensuring flawless execution
Passion for innovation, creative problem solving, and ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
