Job Summary: The Director, Project Finance will support financing activities for Lumen originated renewable energy projects, including solar, energy storage, and EV-charging projects located at commercial real estate sites across the U.S.
This role will involve financial modeling, analysis, deal structuring, diligence, and project management to ensure the successful funding of projects with investors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, transaction execution, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for innovating in renewable energy. This role will report the the Head of Finance, and represents an opportunity to enable renewable energy financing at scale.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models for renewable energy projects to assess economic feasibility, scenarios, and risks. Support product team with integrating financial models into software code and software products.
Project Management: Lead internal and external processes for marketing projects for sale to third party investors. Manage investor relationships, timeline, communications, and data sharing.
Due Diligence: Support due diligence on potential markets and projects, including market analysis, regulatory considerations, and financial incentives.
Funding Strategy: Assist in structuring and securing project finance partnerships, including debt, equity, and other investments.
Investor Relations: Support communication with investors, lenders, and other financial stakeholders to facilitate project financing.
Documentation: Prepare and review financial documents, term sheets, contracts, and other related documentation.
Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to inform financing strategies.
Product Development: Support the creation and management of new products and services related to evaluating and financing renewable energy projects.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and product and engineering, to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in project finance, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
Strong understanding of project finance structures, including debt, equity, and tax equity.
Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work in a dynamic start up environment and innovate in renewable energy project financing.
Passion for renewable energy.
While this is a remote position, we have a preference for candidates who can be in person 3 days/week in San Francisco office
