Director Software Engineering - Small Business CardAs a Capital One Director of Software Engineering, you'll work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful microservices, to back-end Java based systems using the hottest techniques in Big Data.
You'll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as: Java, React, Angular in cloud environments.
We are looking for a Director of Software Engineering to lead Brand and Acquisitions engineering teams.
These agile teams work to provide software solutions that support our Small Business Credit Cards, and are well-versed in a wide variety of technologies including: Java, Angular, React, Python, Shell Scripting and Node JS deployed on the cloud (AWS).
You will: Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product focused software engineersMentor and coach the software engineers on your team.
Work closely with them on their career development.Build relationships and work with product partners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios - Continuously improve software engineering practicesWork within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack development tools and technologiesBe well managed: Maintain the technology stack that is owned by teams by resolving vulnerabilities.Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering communityEncourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversityWork across to improve the velocity of your and other teamsBasic Qualifications: Bachelor's DegreeAt least 7 years' experience in software developmentAt least 5 years' experience in people managementPreferred Qualifications: Master's Degree10+ years of experience in software development5+ years of experience in Agile practicesCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
