Position SummaryThe Director of Product Development will lead the global Healthcare Digital Solutions Development team. This team delivers excellence in modern, connected, digital software solutions for STERIS Customers. You will be accountable for planning and executing the effective development, verification and deployment of solutions across the Healthcare Digital Solutions portfolio, delivering healthcare software solutions that transform the surgical supply chain. You will be managing remote teams located primarily in the U.S. and the U.K.
*This is a fully remote position. Qualified candidates must currently reside in the Continental U.S. Location preference is within Eastern or Central time zones due to global team management.
What you will do as a Director, Product DevelopmentGuide team development efforts towards successful parallel project delivery. Embrace challenges with a positive outlook, take responsibility for ensuring consensus and harmony.Provide technical leadership through coaching and mentorship. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.Maintain high standards of software quality and validation within the team by establishing good practices and habits.Collaborate with peers in Digital Consultancy and Product Security to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web, desktop and mobile applications building industry leading solutions.Take accountability for planning and executing the effective deployment of solutions, working with cross-functional colleagues to ensure successful delivery.Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on budget. Assist in the creating of user stories, estimates and work plans.Be the voice of the Product Development Team; monitor and communicate progress within, and to wider stakeholder groups. Celebrate success, identify and remove barriers, and maintain focus on delivering consistent value.The Experience, Skills and Abilities NeededRequired: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree required10+ years of software engineering work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments3 years of experience managing teams responsible for software development for a broad range of diverse and complicated solutions5 years experience in software engineering of web technologies in a regulated environment5 years AGILE or SCRUM software development methodologyExperience with on prem Microsoft .Net software technologiesExtensive experience designing and developing revenue generating, enterprise grade software productsWell-versed in software development disciplines and principles with a keen sense of when to choose the right tools for the jobAbility to visualize, own, and execute the delivery of software solutions from initial conception to collaborating with peers on implementation and deploymentComprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theoriesInternally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environmentStrong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processesStrong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholdersProven ability to deliver solid designs on a tight deadlineExpert eye for detail and consistency; no detail is too small or insignificantExperience with an iterative development process that includes accepting and managing feedback and constructive criticismPreferred: Management of fully remote teamsExperience with healthcare software developmentExperience with cloud technologiesWhat STERIS OffersWe value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, well-being and financial future.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
