At FTI Delta, we work hand-in-hand with our clients to deliver tangible results and provide end-to-end support throughout their strategic journey. From day one at FTI Delta, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with recognized experts in small teams that encourage and reward collaboration.
About The Role Are you ready to dive into complex business environments and contribute to high-impact recommendations that drive client success?
As a Director at FTI Delta, you will play a key role in delivering strategic recommendations to clients by managing individual project modules, deploying commercial acumen in structuring and performing key analysis/deliverables with little support, and developing areas of focus as well as identifying leads from existing projects. You will also have the opportunity to formally coach junior staff.
This role is open to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas locations.
What You'll Do As a Director, you will manage modules of a project or designated scope in client billable project work. You will play a key role in problem solving through data gathering, problem structuring, independently forming insights and actions from owned analysis with a holistic view of the engagement, coaching team members to build complex financial, operational, or market models applying your Excel and financial proficiency. You will lay out problem-solving approaches and structures by translating project scope with limited support from the engagement lead, then independently identify the required analysis and critical path of work under the framework. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality output and be able to balance delegation of duties vs. "doing the work" under dynamic engagement conditions. Key to this will be your ability to connect findings to strategic and operational recommendations.
You will leverage your communication and presentation skills to communicate assignments and direction to internal project teams; communicate upward and downward, and with clients to align work plans. You will provide formal coaching to junior staff.
You will structure and present analyses/deliverables with limited support from the engagement lead. If required, you will be capable of covering senior team roles/client interactions when the senior team is not available.
In addition, you will manage project small module teams and demonstrate the ability to identify time scales, understand priorities and resource requirements, and dynamically make decisions on delegation and priorities to meet deadlines.
Beyond this, you will also play a strong role in the career development of junior staff through coaching and providing constructive feedback to set them up for success. Beyond project-based work, you will support Senior Managing Directors from a commercial standpoint by developing intellectual capital, white papers, and developing client pitches and proposals, and start identifying areas of focus and leads from existing projects.
This role demands a logical and lateral thinker who is curious, structured, and organized, has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You will build strong professional and personal relationships with client teams. As a team player who can work in a truly diverse setting, you have the ability to deliver under pressure, keeping a mature demeanor, and most importantly, be a leader who will act as a role model and mentor to junior consultants.
